Chiropractic is a natural form of health care that uses spinal adjustments to correct these misalignments and restore proper function to the nervous system, helping your body to heal naturally.

Many common conditions can be treated with acupuncture; and, when treated in conjunction with chiropractic, many times the recovery process takes less time than if treated alone.

Electro-Muscle Stimulation (EMS)
Therapy involving very low levels of electrical impulses delivered to the injured, painful tissues to reduce pain and speed healing. It is actually a very relaxing treatment, and is very beneficial.

Patients generally feel a slight tingling sensation at first. Since your body may become accustomed to the initial setting, the intensity may be raised during the course of your treatment, for maximum healing effect.

This therapy is often used to help with acute or chronic pain, as well as strains or sprains of the muscles, and joints in conjunction with chiropractic adjustments.

  • Reduces pain sensation
  • Helps decrease swelling
  • Restores muscle function
  • Speeds the healing process

Soft Tissue Massage
may encompass a variety of massage techniques and may include the assessment of the soft tissue and joints of the body.

This treatment is generally used in conjunction with chiropractic care. Soft Tissue Massage preformed by Dr. Fortin is similar to deep tissue & relaxation massage techniques. Each patient is administered a different technique based on their individual condition.

  • Helps to treat physical dysfunction and injury
  • Relieves pain of the soft tissues and joints
  • Relaxes soft tissues enabling a more sustainable chiropractic adjustment

Ultrasound Treatment
is a form of deep heat therapy created by sound waves that is used in conjunction with chiropractic care.   When applied to soft tissue, the sound waves are a form of micro-massage that help reduce swelling, increase blood flow, and decrease pain, stiffness, and relax muscle spasms.  These vibrations and heat also help break down and disperse unhealthy calcium and other hard tissue accumulations.

When ultrasound is administered, most patients feel nothing, or a pleasant and relaxing sensation below the surface of the skin.  The gel used to conduct the sound waves is at room temperature and may momentarily feel cool to the skin when it is initially applied.

  • Highly effective in treating calcium deposition
  • Stimulates healing without irritation
  • Improves blood flow
  • Reduces nerve root irritation
  • Enhances the body’s natural healing ability
